Administration

The following sections will be concerned with some of the administrative capabilities of the GTS.NET system. GTS.NETcan be secured with multiple levels of security. Users can be restricted by area, allowed read-only access, or granted full administrative privileges.

Security can be managed at both the individual user and group levels allowing access and modification rights to authorized officials only.

There is a browser-based utility for remotely administering usernames and passwords. Administrators can have instant access for adding new users and modifying or removing existing ones.

For this partial demo we will focus on two administrative tasks: administering issues and administering field representatives.

Administering Issues:

  1. Click on the Administration tab at the top of the page.

  2. We are presented with a new page presenting several administrative options. On this page, click the "Primary Issues Administration" link.

  3. The link navigates to a page containing information about the issues currently in the system. Let's assume we want to add an issue to the system called "Address change". Click on the "Add an Issue" button.

  4. Type in the name "Address Change" in the textbox that becomes visible and then click on the "Add Issue" button.

  5. The issue you just added should now be visible in the "Active Issues" grid at your right.
  6. Archiving an issue renders it unusable by the system until it is un-archived. Go ahead and archive the issue you just created.

  7. Navigate back to the administration page by clicking on the "Administration" tab at the top of the page.
